Welcome to the thottam

“Thottam” is Malayalamfor garden — and the gardencame first.

Nyra Thottam is a comfortable three-bedroom villa in Chicklai, Vettilappara, surrounded on every side by tropical greenery — coconut palms, fruit trees, flowering shrubs and a lawn that invites bare feet. It sits quietly near Silver Storm Amusement Park, on the road that carries travellers towards the Athirappilly waterfalls.

The villa is built for staying the way you live at home: a hall and living area to gather in, a kitchen to cook your own meals, a separate entertainment room, an attached bathroom facility plus a common bathroom, and driver’s quarters with their own bathroom. Mornings begin with birdsong; evenings end on the veranda.

The garden

Grown, not landscaped —a living tropical gardenyou can wander.

Cobbled paths wind between crotons and coconut palms. Bilimbi and pomelo trees carry fruit in season, hornbills drop by the taller branches, and a small pond flickers with fish. There is shade for a hammock, lawn for children, and a tile-roofed pavilion when you’d rather sit still.

This is the heart of Nyra Thottam — not a backdrop, but the reason the villa exists.
